Samsung Techwin, maker of cutting-edge digital cameras

This week I bring you a story about Samsung Techwin, an up-and-coming maker of digital cameras. Last Saturday, the Russian spacecraft Soyuz carrying Korea’s first astronaut Yi So-yeon returned to earth safely after 12 days in space. Although Korea’s first aerospace project was assisted by Russian aerospace authority, it marked a significant beginning in the Korean aeronautics history. It was also an important opportunity to advance Korea’s aerospace development technology, and Korea’s scientific potential has been proven by Samsung Techwin, Korea’s new rising star in the digital camera development industry. How was Samsung Techwin, a latecomer in the digital camera business, able to win its spot on the Soyuz? Here’s section chief Lee Ho-woong of Samsung Techwin marketing team to tell us about the role its digital camera played in the recent trip to outer space.
