Now it’s time to introduce one of Korea’s most promising companies. This week we feature Samsung Thales, Korea’s top defense company. Samsung Thales originated back in 1978 when Samsung Aerospace started taking part in the national defense industry. Since then, Samsung Thales has demonstrated exceptional technological capacity in developing cutting-edge radar, electronic optical devices, and tactical communication systems. The company has played an indispensable role in advancing the combat capability of the Korean military. The company’s latest projects include network-based sensor and communication systems and solutions. The hard work of Samsung Thales paid off when the company succeeded in developing the country’s first mobile radio frequency detection system, also called SMRS-1. Today we’ve invited Department Director Tae Hyun-shik of Samsung Thales Yongin R&D Center to tell us more about the cutting-edge equipment.
