In marking the Day of Trade on December 2, a total of 1,043 companies received the government’s recognition for their exemplary export achievements. One notable enterprise was Korea Tomorrow & Global, better known as KT&G, which won the 400 million-dollar Export Tower award. Once a state-affiliated corporation under the name Korea Tobacco and Ginseng Corporation, KT&G transformed itself into a lucrative private enterprise in 2002. How was KT&G able to emerge as a powerhouse in the world’s tobacco market? Today we have Director Heo Seung-oh 허승오 of the Global Headquarters to tell us more about the company.
