This mountain contains the Achasanseong (Fortress). Built in the early years of the Baekje Kingdom (18 B.C.-A.D. 660), its purpose was to defend the territory from invasion by the Goguryeo Kingdom (37 B.C.-A.D. 668) to the north. The remains of the fortress start from about 200 meters above sea level and continue along the upper parts of the mountainside toward Hangang.
