The park was formerly the site of the Korean Air Force Academy but was turned into Boramae Park in May 1986. This 360,000m² large park features sports facilities, a small zoo, a pond, a playground for children and walking paths. Four of the two-storey buildings in the park are equipped with libraries for young students. The Boramae Youth Center is popular among adolescents as it operates a wide range of fun and educational programs, including a movie club. The symbolic monument of the Korean Air Force Academy still remains here.
