The Mongchon Museum of History was opened in January 1992 to pay tribute to the 2000 year old history of Seoul as a historic center. On display are the major ruins and artifacts reflecting the ancient history and culture of Seoul and the Hangang (River) basin. The museum is a center for hands-on education in history for students, as well as a valuable source of raising cultural awareness among the citizens of Seoul.
