As the cherry blossoms spread their pink over the Mall in Washington D.C., the historic town of Jinhae in South Gyeongsang Province prepares a unique festival March every year.
Around the end of March, or early April, the city of Jinhae on the southern coast is blanketed with the petals of countless cheery blossoms in full bloom. Drawn by the beautiful cherry blossoms and Jinhae’s gorgeous landscape, thousands of tourists from across Korea visit the city. Foreigners at home and abroad make a special pilgrimage to the city to enjoy the cherry blossoms at their height.
