The 11th International Women's Film Festival in Seoul (IWFFIS) is set to run April 9-16, 2009 and will feature more than 100 films from 23 countries, including those of several accomplished American women.
The festival's opening film, "Half-Life," was directed by American Jennifer Phang, whose previous films, including Love Ltd., have been shown at numerous international festivals. Half-Life, which premiered at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival, tells the story of a mother living in California with her two children as the family struggles to deal with being abandoned by their father.
