Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do will host its 33rd Jindo Sea-parting Festival for three days from March 30th to April 1st. The festival venue is the 2.8 km-long, 40-60m wide path that appears when the sea ‘miraculously’ parts due to extreme tidal differences. The event is one of the ‘Best Festivals’ selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. In 2009 alone, as many as 680,000 people, including 52,000 international visitors, attended the festival.
