Traditional Korean dance does not quite resemble ballet, developed in Western Europe. So it may come as a surprise to some people that there are top Korea-born ballerinas dancing around the world who have made remarkable careers, such as Kang Sue-jin who is the Stuttgart Ballet principal, and Kim Ji-young, who has been a principal dancer of the Dutch National Ballet since 2002.
