The plan to restore a nine-story wooden pagoda inside the Hwangnyongsa Temple in Gyeongju, believed to be one of the earliest wooden pagodas in Korea, is progressing at full speed.
The government of North Gyeongsang Province, where Gyeongju is located, is pressing ahead with the plan to restore the Hwangnyongsa Temple’s nine-story pagoda earlier than it originally scheduled. The pagoda was burned to ashes nearly eight centuries ago.
