The 2008 Ramsar Convention on Wetlands is to take place in the city of Changwon, Gyeongsangnam-do (South Gyeongsang Province) from Oct. 28 to Nov. 4. Celebrating Korea's hosting of the global environmental convention, Ban Ki-moon, the Secretary-General of United Nations, Anada Tiega, the secretary general of the Ramsar Convention, and some 1,300 dignitaries have been invited for the occasion.
