Korean exports rose nearly 12 percent on-year to a monthly record in May thanks to brisk shipments of steel and cars, a government report showed Friday (June 1).
Overseas shipments increased 11.9 percent on-year during the month to a record $31.25 billion, according to the report by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Energy. The rise followed an on-year export growth of 17.8 percent in April.
