U.S. Army Chief in Korea Vows to Build a Stronger Korea-U.S. Alliance


The new commander of the Eighth U.S. Army (EUSA) here Thursday (Feb. 14) pledged to strengthen the Korea-U.S. military alliance, saying the alliance is already one of the strongest his country ever had.

Lt. Gen. Joseph F. Fil Jr. took command of some 20,000 U.S. Army personnel in a change of command ceremony that also bade farewell to his predecessor Lt. Gen. David P. Valcourt.
