Korea Telecom, now KT, launched the Internet in 1994 and gave Korea its first "taste" of the Internet for commercial use with a product called Kornet. The Internet speed at that time was extremely slow by today's standards, at around 9.6 Kbps. At the time, it would have taken over an hour to download an MP3 file.
