According to the World Bank's statistics on nominal GDP, Korea ranked 15th in the world in 2008 (fourth largest in Asia), just after Australia. Its GDP ranking improves to 13th, however, if adjusted for purchasing power parity. In terms of GNP per capita at purchasing power parity, the World Bank ranked Korea 24th in 2008.
