Hyegok had devoted his life to the development of museums since he first began to work at the Gaeseong Municipal Museum. He served as the 4th Head of the National Museum of Korea. Also, he left behind academic legacies in diverse areas of Korean ceramics, woodcraft and the history of painting. He dedicated his life to introducing the beauty of Korea to broader audiences.
