Korea is known for its manufacturing industries such as shipbuilding and semiconductors, but what about Korea's culture and service sectors?

Korea is known as a manufacturing-oriented country. According to a Bank of Korea report, Korea's service sector accounted for 40.4 percent of the nation's gross domestic product in 2007, up from 39.3 percent in 2000. This figure is significantly lower than the 70 percent recorded in the United States, 66.9 percent in Britain and 55 percent in Japan, according to the Bank.
