The Korea Railroad or Korail brought its over-100-year-long run as a government agency to a close, and started anew as a public corporation in 2005. Employing nearly 30,000 workers and having 13 trillion won in assets, Korail is the nation’s largest public corporation. Since it went public in 2005, it was selected by consumers as one of top 100 brands in Korea two years in a row.
