What is the "Makgeolli Transformer" exhibition, and why is makgeolli becoming so popular?

The "Makgeolli Transformer" was an exhibition held within the Seoul Museum of History on September 3, 2009. Organized by the South Korean Ministry for Food, Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, this one-time event featured 13 types of makgeolli, Korea's traditional commoner's rice-based wine, made from local rice from seven cities and provinces. Flavored mixes including grape and espresso were also presented.
