Who is the president of Korea?

Syngman Rhee served as Korea's first President, from July 1948 to April 1960, as recorded in the state-run Presidential Archives. Rhee is noted for his contribution to establishing a modern form of government in Korea based on democracy and a capitalist market economy. Rhee, known as a staunch anti-communist, led Korea through the Korean War. Although re-elected for a fourth term in 1960, Rhee was accused of rigging the election and his presidency ended that year as a result of public protests.
