Gosan was also generous enough to return part of his wealth to society. To assist poor people, he provided a fundamental project. With his private support, he implemented land reclamation projects at Gulpo-ri Imhoe-myeon Jindo-gun and Guseok-ri and Seokjung-ri on Nohwado Island to the north of Bogildo Island, and provided the reclaimed land to the poor villagers for free.
