Korean Comic ‘Manhwa’ Gaining Popularity in US

Korean Comic ‘Manhwa’ has been hitting American shelves with increasing popularity. With an increasing focus on Korean culture, Korean animation is steadily finding a niche in the U.S market, selling its products to American customers and partnering with some U.S. producers and distributors.
Recently, Goldman Sachs – the U.S-based finance company – announced an investment of 10 million dollars in the Korean cartoon series “Pororo.” A Hollywood film company, Screen Jam, acquired the copyrights of “Priest,” the story of humanity’s battle against 12 fallen angels. This movie will be produced by “Spider Man” director Sam Raimi.
