Seoul has been chosen as the "World Design Capital" for the year 2010 by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), the Seoul metropolitan government said Sunday (Oct. 21).
The selection was made at the closing ceremony of the ICSID general conference in San Francisco on Friday, it said. The ICSID's World Design Capital project is aimed at promoting and encouraging the use of design to further social, economic and cultural development.
