How is the North Korea different from the South?

First, differences arise between North and South Korea owing to basic geographic and cultural factors. North Korea, with its higher, rugged mountains and plentiful water supply, has traditionally been rich in hydroelectric power. With its larger plains and warmer weather, meanwhile, southern Korea has long been Korea's breadbasket. Geography has had an impact on population as well: North Korea is much more sparsely populated than the South, with about one half the population. North Korea has also traditionally been wealthier in terms of mineral resources.
